Graphic Design - Graphic DesignCreating ads that work is the purpose of this business...and  that can't happen without having a graphics designer who understands the objective and has the creative and technical skills to do it.  A few years ago when you looked for a designer, you were dependent on finding someone "in the neighborhood".  You'd spend hours working hand and hand, collecting and revising ad copy, and marathon sessions to fininsh your book at print deadline.  Well...maybe the marathon sessions haven't totally disappeared, but the internet, scanning, modern software and communication systems have eliminated the need for face to face meetings to create good ads and magazines on schedule.  In addition to our in-house support, AmMax maintains a nationwide network of designers and design firms that we don't hesitate to recommend and who know our schedules and printers specifications.   If you need  help  finding the right person to work with, we can help!

Good Covers Set the Stage...

...and reflect the image you want to create for both your customers and their customers.  Whether a cover is sold as prime exposure space or designed to reflect the community or season - it's important that it's well planned.  The following are some examples of what we consider "good" covers and reflect the skills of both the publishers and designers:

Lee and Babs Townsend, Community Values Magazines, Olympia, Washington, never sell their covers, but use them to reflect seasonal scenes and art from their native Washington state.  Their covers are so popular, that local artists and photographers literally compete to get exposure.  Of course, sometimes Lee likes to use his own pictures which are excellent!
